Alternative License Pathway

A partnership between the Urban Learning Collaborative (formerly Milwaukee Teacher Education Center) and Marquette created an approved alternative certification pathway for existing teachers to add on the CS license, without having to quit their day jobs and go back to college full time. This program was appropriate for EA-A and MC-A teachers in other content areas who wished to add the CS license, as well as for teachers with the CS license who wished to hone their pedagogy. It was designed to support teachers all over the state, not just in the metro areas. This program concluded a few years after the supporting NSF grant expired, but has served as a catalyst for multiple successor programs homed at Marquette and other colleges in the state.
